Dwight Yoakam plays Ford Amphitheater on Friday, October 9, 2026, with doors at 7:00 p.m. After that night, the venue's calendar skips to the Gene Simmons Band on May 21, 2027. That leaves 224 days without a listed show at the largest stage in the Northgate area, and the venue's November page is empty.
Over those same months, the streets around the amphitheater have more going on than they did a year ago. Between October 10 and New Year's Eve, a year-round restaurant inside the venue, a new steakhouse on Spectrum Loop, an indoor music hall on Bass Pro Drive and several holiday programs will keep the corner of InterQuest Parkway and North Gate Boulevard busy. The off-season was part of the plan for these blocks from the start.
The Restaurant Inside the Amphitheater Was Built for the Dark Months
The clearest evidence is Roth's Sea & Steak at 13010 Spectrum Sun View. In May 2025, KOAA reported that VENU, the company behind both the amphitheater and the restaurant, planned it as a year-round part of the venue, "so even when concerts aren't going on, the restaurant will be open." The plans also called for overlook views of the amphitheater and the Front Range sunset, plus private event rooms.
The opening date shows the plan in action. Roth's opened on November 8, 2025, according to The Gazette. That was after the 2025 concert season had ended, so the restaurant spent its whole first winter with no concerts next door. Its one-year mark falls on November 8, 2026, about a month into this year's quiet stretch.
According to the restaurant's contact page, current hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 5 to 10 p.m. Upstairs is Brohan's, a speakeasy-style cocktail lounge that doesn't require a reservation. The October calendar includes Land & Sea, a Friends of James Beard benefit, on October 9 and 10, and a Pasta Fresca chef master class on October 17. The Land & Sea benefit runs the same night as the Yoakam show and the night after, so the restaurant's calendar continues past the venue's final concert.
Spectrum Loop Is Filling In With Steakhouses
The streets outside the amphitheater have been adding restaurants that serve dinner every week of the year, whatever the concert schedule.
Texas de Brazil opened at 140 Spectrum Loop and announced it on August 5, 2026. The company's release describes rodízio-style service with flame-grilled meats carved at the table. It also calls the Northgate/Interquest area "one of the region's fastest-growing destinations for shopping, dining, entertainment, and business."
The next restaurant is already under construction. In a social media post shared the week of October 7, the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department said The Brinkerhoff is going up "right outside Ford Amphitheater next to the Texas de Brazil." The department called it "popular up in the Castle Rock area" and said the site "will provide some pretty sweet views of Pikes Peak and the Front Range." KKTV reported a project value of $3.5 million. KOAA's report the same day gave no opening timeline and no street address.
The Castle Rock original at 6373 Promenade Parkway gives a sense of what's coming. The Brinkerhoff describes itself as a Mexican steakhouse that also serves sushi, inspired by the colonial architecture of Mexico and the food of Mexico City, with an open kitchen at the center of the dining room. If it opens as described, Spectrum Loop will have three upscale steakhouses within a short walk: Roth's, Texas de Brazil and The Brinkerhoff.
One more construction project nearby isn't a restaurant. A $28.8 million Subaru dealership is going up along North Gate Boulevard east of I-25, near Northgate Road and Struthers Road. It sits next to the Starbucks north of the Western Museum of Mining and Industry, and the project was approved in late August. The building department noted that this is "not the normal location for car dealerships." No opening date has been reported.
The Music Moves Across Bass Pro Drive
The amphitheater has nothing listed from October 10 through year-end, but Phil Long Music Hall lists 25 shows between October 16 and December 31. That includes two Darci Lynne performances on December 5. The hall is at 13071 Bass Pro Drive, next to Bourbon Brothers Smokehouse and Tavern and across the street from Bass Pro Shops. Bourbon Brothers lists its own address as 13021 Bass Pro Drive. According to the hall's private-events page, its seating layouts can hold nearly 500 people.
The calendar leans toward tribute acts, legacy bands, comedy and holiday tours. These are the nights listed for the rest of the year:

The hall's other tribute nights fill in November. They include Still The Same, a Bob Seger tribute, with Street Survivors, a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute, on November 6; The Seven Wonders, a Fleetwood Mac tribute, on November 7; Fool House, a '90s party, on November 19; DEPARTURE, a Journey tribute, on November 20; and Project Foreigner with Fire & Ice on November 21. The Pikes Peak Jazz Series plays once a month through the fall, on October 24, November 15 and December 13.
Holidays Take Over the Big-Box Blocks
By late November, a third set of businesses joins in. These are the large destination properties that bring in visitors from across the region and also sit a short drive from Northgate homes.
- Bass Pro Shops, 13012 Bass Pro Drive. The store page says the Colorado Springs location hosts Santa's Wonderland for most of November and December. The chain's Santa's Wonderland page lists Santa's Magical Arrival on Saturday, November 7 at 5 p.m., with free Santa photos from November 8 through December 24. That page is written for all stores, so confirm the local schedule before planning around it.
- Hotel Polaris, 8989 North Gate Boulevard. Ascend Spa & Wellness hosts "Wings of Change: A Halloween Sound Bath Experience" on October 30. On November 12, Pamela's Private Dining Room hosts a Polaris Pour harvest dinner with Stag's Leap Wine Cellars, tied to the 50th anniversary of the 1976 Judgment of Paris tasting. The hotel's Wings of Winter page promotes an aviation-themed winter celebration but doesn't list dated holiday events yet.
- Great Wolf Lodge Colorado Springs. The lodge's Snowland page lists its annual celebration from November 29 through December 23, with seasonal activities, crafts and visits with Santa. It notes that individual activities can vary by lodge.
Taken together, the overlapping dates show how the off-season is covered. Bass Pro's Santa arrival on November 7 falls the day after the Bob Seger and Skynyrd tribute night at Phil Long and the day before Roth's first anniversary. Hotel Polaris's harvest dinner on November 12 is the same night The Drifters play across the district. In the five weeks before Christmas, Snowland, Santa's Wonderland, Cowboy Christmas and two Darci Lynne Christmas shows all fall within a few blocks of each other.
What Spring Will Add
When Gene Simmons opens the 2027 amphitheater season on May 21, the blocks around the bowl may look different from this fall. If The Brinkerhoff is finished by then, three upscale steakhouses will sit along the walk to the gates, and the Subaru dealership will add to the North Gate Boulevard frontage. Neither project has a reported opening date yet. For now, the October 7 reports from KKTV and KOAA are the most recent public update on both.
The Daniels Team follows this corridor closely because news like a new restaurant or a project value in a building department post shapes how the north end feels to the people who live there.
