The Theater Returns

2020 was not the best year for those of us that prefer indoor events and activities. To put it lightly, everything was cancelled. You know that.

What you may not know is that the theater is finally planning its return. The Denver Center for Performing Arts has announced its plan to return for the tail end of 2021 for live, though probably limited, performances. Some of the more “mainstream” performances that might get you excited for returning to the stage include the annual classic like The Nutcracker Ballet, Disney’s The Lion King, Jersey Boys, Riverdance, and Hamilton will feature in early 2022.

If you’re an avid fan of Broadway and Cabaret, you may have to be patient. Since those performing companies are often brought in from other areas for limited runs of the show, some of those dates are still yet to be announced.

If you would rather stay more local for shows, the Broadmoor World Arena is also slowly but surely releasing updated dates for shows, concerts, and events that are coming this summer and into the second half of the year. Comedians David Spade and Jeff Dunham have shows that were rescheduled into this year, as well as country star Luke Combs still has seats available for his show.

In the meantime, you can enjoy some of these shows via apps like Disney+ or tickets to virtual events.
